Early 17th century Italian peasant attire/costume, made to measure.

The gown includes: one linen smock (=shirt), one kirtle made of linen, one petticoat made of linen and one apron made of linen or cotton (all garments will be as shown in pictures).

The bodice is reinforced on the sides with synthetic whalebones (the boning channels are not visible neither on the outside nor on inside lining, it's lined with cotton or linen and has a spiral lacing on the sides; the eyelets of the side lacing  are sewn with linen or silk thread. The kirtle skirt it's pleated (cartridge pleats), lined and has a decoration with three parallel ribbons near the dress hem.

The smock/chemise is pleated like in the picture and reaches a mid calf length; the cuff  has two eyelets and it's closed by ribbons.

The petticoat is pleated (cartridge pleats) at the waist and has a decoration made with a different linen color near the hem.

The apron is made of linen or cotton.

You can add to your order also the coif : the coif is made of white linen and it's hand sewn.
You can request the St. Brigit coif shown in the photo or the Northern coif shown in the video (this coif is made of two pieces and follows the English and Flemish fashion of that period).
The St. Brigit coif is not historically suitable for a young person in the 1600's.
The 'northern' coif is suitable for example for sutlers, other civilians following the army or people that would have come in contact with english and flemish fashion.
Both coif's trimmings are machine made, if you want handmade trimmings see the"Custom orders" section below.

Corset, breeches, doublets and pockets/pouches are not included in this listing, but they can be requested: see the following “custom orders” section.
The doublet can also be ordered directly here
and the corset can also be ordered directly here.
Please note: this attire requires this corset to achieve the correct silhouette.

The gown will be made in the color/colors of your choice: please send a message to check color / fabric availability.

Measurements

Once you have placed your order, you will receive a list of the measurements that will be needed to make your bespoke garment/ garments plus a diagram / tutorial that will show you how to correctly take those measurements.

Mock-up and fitting

Once I have received your measurements I will make a mock-up of the kirtle: this prototype will be necessary to achieve the correct fitting for this gown.

The mock up service is provided both for customers who can come by the studio for fittings and for customers living abroad.

Customers living abroad will receive the mock-up via courier: we will schedule a video call in which we are going to check the fitting and, once any changes have been established, the customer will send the prototipe back to Elaine's studio (please note: the cost of the mock-up shipment, return and custom fees are charged to the customer).

The cost of the mock-up and fitting is already included in the price of this gown but the eventual shippings fees are not so please note: before placing your order send via message or at elainecouture.info@gmail.com the shipping address, your height and bust-chest-hips circumference so I can calculate the cost of the shipping and return cost and add it to your total. Instead if you come to try it at the studio there will be no shipping costs to add.
